Subfields of psychology

Psychology is a very interesting science and like others sciences, has much trends and specializations. Philosophy could be named its "mother”. Psychology is enough a young science, but despite this, variety of spheres, in which psychology is used, shows that this science is a very important.

Psychology continually develops. It determines not only a person's almighty wish to know himself, but daily increscent needs to settle problems, which appear in the world every day. When IT came into being, it was arisen problems, which were related with a dependence on computer. Wilhelm Wundt, psychology's science founder, even did not know about such problems. So psychology owes and develops together with our civilization. Of course, variety of spheres shows not only round of our needs, but different opinions about certain problems, for example behavioral and cognitive keys of psychology. We can not say, which of this school of psychology is righter, but it is not a vice. Sea of opinions about one question helps to make a righter view of appearance. Through this we can easily decide a problem.

When students, psychologists in the future, passed into the university and thought about themselves perspectives in the future, they saw differently a work which they will be doing. Somebody would work in schools, analyse children's behaviour, form an individual and help to decide problems, which can begin, when children grow. Other people dreamed to do experiments, which are not done before, and to do the discovery, that can help progeny to understand phenomenons in psychology. Likely, all these examples do not show all variety of spheres, where psychologist can work.

When I had begun to study in department of psychology and had planned my future, I encountered with problem. Psychology is a much broadcast, insomuch that if you want, you can use own knowledge everywhere. It is evident that specialization known as psychology of women is a very interesting and even useful thing like for my like for other women. Nowadays when there are much violence in the world, knowledge about how to surmount aggression, to my mind is a very necessary for women.

Also I am very interested in branch of psychology such as Cross-cultural psychology. Nowadays most of political scientists, philosophers, journalists tell that there are two civilization - West and East, Christian and Islamic civilizations in the world. Actions of terrorism in Europe, wars in the East show that there is crisis in the world. Everybody is influenced not only parents or friends but and country where we born, culture, and religion. Such contribution of our country is named mentality. Mentality is mindset that is typical for some ethnic groups or nations. Cross-cultural psychology analyses differences and problems among people from different countries. I think that this subfield is a very actual and promising, because globalization in the world takes in more and more countries and consolidate people in the world.

Because I plan to get an undergraduate major, I am interested about possibility to study in our university. There are three subfields of psychology major in our university. They are social, business psychology and psychology of laws. So if about me, I would like to work in social psychology.
